BRENHAM, WASHINGTON COUNTY - In January 2014, the City of Brenham issued 38 permits with estimated construction costs totaling $3,756,873, compared to 22 permits totaling $851,796 in January 2013.
The permits issued during January 2014 were:
• new residential construction — eight permits, $847,080;
• residential renovations — 12 permits, $125, 717;
• residential additions — four permits, $309.486;
• new commercial building — seven permits, $1,015,526;
• commercial renovations — five permits, $1,689,564; and
• commercial additions — one permit, $45,000
The largest single permit was issued to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for its $953,564 remodeling project at the church’s fellowship hall.
