EL PASO - El Paso's median price for preowned homes increased almost 2 percent in 2013, well below the national increase of 11.4 percent, according to the National Association of Realtors.

The median sales price for a preowned, single-family home in El Paso in 2013 was $141,200 — $2,600 more than in 2012, or an increase of 1.9 percent.

However, El Paso's median sales price declined 0.3 percent in fourth quarter 2013 compared to 4Q 2012.

Other markets in the region included:

•  Albuquerque's price increased 2.3 percent to $174,300;
•  San Antonio, up 7.2 percent to $171,000;
•  Austin, up 8.2 percent to $206,000;
•  Tucson, up 13.1 percent to $169,600; and
•  Phoenix, up 24.4 percent to $183,600.

The national median price was $197,400 — up $20,200 for an 11.4 percent increase.
