Flower Mound OKs movie theater, senior center
FLOWER MOUND – Plans for a 45,000-sf upscale movie theater and a 22,481-sf senior center have been approved by the Flower Mound Town Council.
The 925-seat Moviehouse & Eatery will be constructed at the northwest intersection of FM 2499 and Lakeside Pkwy. as part of the Lakeside DFW development. The 45,000-sf facility is expected to have eight screens. The theater, expected to open in April 2015, will create at least 100 jobs.
It will include a full food and beverage service and will feature wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling screens in each of its auditoriums. Outside of the auditoriums will be an area exclusively for dining.
Flower Mound’s new 22,481-sf senior center will be located at the southwest intersection of Long Prairie Rd. and W. Windsor Dr. The project, to be constructed for $5.2 million, will break ground at the beginning of March. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2015.
The center is expected to include a 6,000-sf multipurpose ballroom, which can be divided. The center is also set to include a library/living room, a billiard room, a fitness room, a computer classroom and more.
