FORNEY – A new 124,000-sf Kroger Marketplace is the first in Texas to sell adult and children’s clothing, shoes and accessories. The new Marketplace, located at 500 Marketplace Blvd., is the sixth in North Texas.

Kroger is devoting 5,000 sf of the store to adult and children’s apparel. The store will also sell kitchen, bed and bath merchandise, small appliances, toys, office, party supplies, fine jewelry, and, of course, groceries, including five aisles of natural and organic foods.

Shopping for clothes at the grocery store will suit people just fine, said Forney City Manager Brian Brooks. Walmart found out years ago that people in suburbs with growing, busy families are prime candidates for picking up other merchandise with groceries.
