TYLER - The Tyler City Council has approved initial plans for an arts and innovation center inside the eight-story, 50,000-sf S.A. Lindsey Building at 123 S. Broadway Ave.
In 2010, The R.W. Fair Foundation and the Fair Estate gifted the S.A. Lindsey Building to the City of Tyler; the building is currently vacant.
The final recommendations include an Art Gallery, an Arts Incubator, a Performing/Culinary Art Lab and a potential maker space.
“We are anticipating that the primary funding source for the arts and innovation center will be from private donors,” said Mayor Barbara Bass.
