Blue baskets roll to Bryan’s 155,000-SF Walmart

BRYAN – Walmart’s new 155,000-sf store is open at 643 N. Harvey Mitchell Parkway. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, it is the first major shopping center on Bryan’s burgeoning west side.

The Walmart will be the anchor tenant in the shopping center, which is planning for additional stand-alone and multitenant retail buildings on the land ranging from 7,000 to 75,000 sf.

The store will employ 300 people, and about three-fourths of those will be in full-time positions. The average daily traffic count was 24,300 cars in 2012, but that number is expected to increase to 33,400 by 2032. The store’s location is near the corner of Villa Maria Rd. and FM 2818.
