Amarillo Wolflin Square’s $6M face-lift
AMARILLO – Wolflin Square, a 200,000-sf open-air center at I-40 and Georgia St., is undergoing a $6 million renovation. Completion is scheduled for late 2015.
“Our plans are to construct all new facades along with extensive landscaping, including space for outdoor dining,” said Randy Sharp of the Mays Group, which has owned the property since it was finished in 1960.
“Plans call for more restaurants and other changes to lengthen hours the center sees traffic — “more nightlife,” said Michelle Labrier, Wolflin Square Merchants Association President.
The center will merge a block of Civic Circle that runs from Wolflin Ave. north to I-40 into Wolflin Square’s parking area, providing more continuity between the center’s western and eastern buildings.
The first stage of improvements has a construction value of $475,000, according to the City of Amarillo.
