Railroads tracks natural gas firm to Midlothian
MIDLOTHIAN, DALLAS COUNTY – The sale of 31 acres will bring a natural gas liquefier plant to RailPort Business Park near US 67 and US 287. California-based Applied Natural Gas Fuels Inc. purchased the land.
The acreage can house five natural gas liquefiers, each of which could produce 86,000 gallons of liquefied natural gas per day, or a total of more than 600,000 gallons of liquefied natural gas per day.
RailPort is a 1,700-acre business and industrial park that is serviced by Burlington Northern Santa Fe and Union Pacific railroads. Tenants at RailPort include Target, GDF Suez, QuickTrip, Toys R Us and Buckley Oil Co.
The property’s rail and highway infrastructure helped solidify the deal for Applied Natural Gas, said Dave Anderson, executive vice president of CBRE’s industrial brokerage services’ group.
Applied Natural Gas Fuels is the second largest liquefied natural gas producer and marketer in the United States.
