PLANO – A $33.4 million expansion and renovation has been approved at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. The redevelopment will include the addition of operating rooms, new technology and redesign of other areas.

Construction of the operating rooms will begin this month and is expected to be completed by June 2015.

The project will add five operating rooms, bringing Texas Health Plano’s total to 19, as well as a redesigned central sterile area to improve efficiency and workflow of doctors, nurses and other hospital staff.

A September completion is set for a third heart and vascular lab for electrophysiology procedures on the second floor of Tower B in the Heart and Vascular Center.

The 366-bed Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is an acute care hospital that opened in 1991. It has more than 1,600 employees and 1,600 physicians on the medical staff.
