COLLEGE STATION-BRYAN - A 1,000-acre master-planned community, Atlas, is being developed next to the Texas A&M Health Science Center and golf course and close to Easterwood Airport. The community is designed for biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The same group responsible for building the Traditions development in Bryan is expanding to create a one-of-a-kind master-planned community for biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing at the epicenter of the Bryan-College Station biocorridor.

Atlas will incorporate the various companies that are building in the area, including

–  a $91 million facility to be operated by KALON Biotherapeutics;
–  a $70 million Caliber Biotherapeutics plant, the largest plant-based vaccine manufacturing facility in the world; and
–  the Woodbolt International facility.

Atlas will have amenities including a town center, high-density residential development, manufacturing, office and retail space, a lake, a trail system and room for restaurants and a hotel.

It will sprawl across the Bryan-College Station border, but most of it, including the town center within walking distance to the lake, will be in Bryan.

Lake Atlas is almost finished being built, which will create a waterfront experience for retail, restaurants and homes.

The community was inspired by The Woodlands area north of Houston.
