HOUSTON – The 59,000-sf Midtown Arts and Theater Center Houston (MATCH) located at Main and Holman in Midtown will break ground on May 7.

The facility is expected to be operational by fall 2015 if the board can raise the remainder of its goal by then. As of April 9, nearly $20.14 million, or 80 percent, of the $25 million goal has been raised.

MATCH will include features such as theaters, large gallery space, large rehearsal spaces/classrooms, a coffee and wine bar, and a central public breezeway.

Around 30 organizations are interested in using the center, either as resident companies or just to stage events.
