BELTON – The City of Belton sold five acres of land at 1001 W. Avenue D — the former Public Works facility. Before the sale, the city stipulated the land must be developed in a way that would be compatible with the surrounding area, which has single-family houses and a middle school.

Todd Scott and Riley Scott Homes bought the land for about $83,000 with the stipulation that the company would build detached, single-family homes. The land was appraised at $146,000.
