COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M's Easterwood Airport is getting a multimillion-dollar makeover by Bryan-College Station-based Astin Limited, who will manage all operations and services starting June 1.
The company pledged $7 million in capital improvements and $600,000 in marketing.
Cleaning up crumbling infrastructure will begin as soon as possible after the June takeover. The interior and exterior of the airport will be redesigned, which will take about six to nine months to develop and another six to 12 months to execute.
For the private planes, Astin Limited has committed to building a 10,000-sf common hangar and an undetermined number of private T-hangars.
The company added that ticket prices for fliers and the costs for the airlines would remain the same.
