San Antonio 17,000 apartments planned

SAN ANTONIO – The wave of new apartment projects taking shape in San Antonio is actually helping to underscore this real estate sector’s signature stability. There are currently 10,800 apartment units under construction in the San Antonio area.

More than 7,000 units are slated to break ground over the next 12 months.

Over the first three months of 2014, more than 1,500 new apartment units were added to the market. The occupancy rate, however, remains at a healthy 92 percent, according to Austin Investor Interests.
