HOUSTON – The Petroleum Club of Houston, a historic private dining and business club, is moving out of 800 Bell after 50 years and into a new home a few blocks away. The building’s new owner is planning a renovation to the 1.2 million-sf property.

The Petroleum Club will remain downtown, planning to open its new facility in January on the top floor of 1201 Louisiana across from the Hyatt Regency. It is leasing 30,000 sf in the 35-story building, also known as Total Plaza.

The Petroleum Club’s new space will incorporate elements from the original facility, and it will have a dining room with a chef’s table and a large bar. The highlight will be a "high-style English pub bar."

The building is connected to the downtown tunnel system and offers valet parking. The club has been raising money through an ongoing capital campaign to pay for the $8.3 million project.
