FORT WORTH, CLEBURNE – The $1.4 billion Chisholm Trail Pkwy. has opened, connecting downtown Fort Worth to Cleburne.

Construction on the 27.6-mile tolled highway started in 2010.

The direct connections to I-20 and I-30 will open later, possibly as late as October, according to the North Texas Tollway Authority.

Chisholm Trail Pkwy. is the first toll road in Tarrant County since Dallas-Fort Worth Turnpike became a free highway, I-30, in 1978.
