St. Luke’s $110M medical facility to The Woodlands
THE WOODLANDS - A $110 million medical facility will be developed by CHI St. Luke’s Health near the new Exxon Mobil campus. The hospital system purchased 23 acres for the project in Springwoods Village along the Grand Pkwy. and Holzwarth Rd., a half-mile west of I-45.
The facility will house a 55,000-sf ambulatory center combined with a 100,000-sf medical office building with space for more than 30 physicians. The facility will provide emergency services, diagnostic imaging and outpatient surgery.
A long-term master plan contains a 300-bed hospital and more than 600,000 sf of medical office space, according to CHI St. Luke’s.
Groundbreaking on the medical facility is planned for midsummer, and the opening is scheduled for late next year.
Exxon Mobil’s new corporate home, within Springwoods Village, is expected to house 10,000 employees. The residential component of the master-planned community could have as many as 15,000 residents and a workforce reaching as high as 50,000.
