FORT WORTH – A $95 million, 228,300-sf hospital located immediately west of the current Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South is underway. The entire hospital is located in Fort Worth and Burleson.

The most anticipated difference will be in women’s services, said Ken Finch, Texas Health Huguley Hospital president and CEO.

"We’ll have a whole new women’s center," he said. "That is one area in desperate need."

The six-story facility will connect to the current 223-bed acute care hospital on the first floor. Completion is expected to be complete in summer 2016.

“This new hospital is a sign of the successful partnership between Texas Health Resources and Adventist Health System to more effectively meet the health care needs of this community,” said Doug Hawthorne, CEO of Texas Health Resources.

The new energy-efficient hospital will feature a glass curtain exterior and will include private patient rooms more than double the size of the current rooms. It will also include wireless technology, a Women’s Services Department, an outpatient radiology center, a gift shop and a chapel.

The existing Texas Health Huguley Hospital will continue to house ICU, cardiovascular critical care, the emergency department and heart catheterization lab. The inpatient and outpatient behavioral health center also will remain in the current location.
