So far this year, there have been 6,814 home sales, a 4.7 percent jump from the first four months 2013.
In April, homes stayed on the market an average of 71 days, a 15 percent drop from the same time last year. Housing inventory held steady at 4.5 months, which indicates a favorable market for sellers.
The median home price for a single-family home also rose in April to $176,000. That's a 4.6 percent jump from last year when the median home price in April 2013 was $168,300. April marked 30 consecutive months with rising year-over-year sales prices.
Aside from steady job growth, San Antonio's housing affordability is what continues to drive the market.
