Longview-area April home sales decrease
LONGVIEW – Longview-area home sales took a 23 percent nosedive in April from a year ago — a move one local Realtor said was caused by bad weather earlier this year putting a crimp in the buyer pipeline.
The average price of homes sold increased more than 6 percent to $175,144.
The Longview Area Association of Realtors said 157 homes were sold during April, down from 203 in April 2013. It also was down from the March 2014 total of 196.
While the number of homes sold in the entire market so far this year is now down — 633 compared to 666 a year ago — the total value of those homes is close — $101.6 million so far this year compared with $103 million a year ago.
The data, from the association’s Multiple Listing Service, does not include homes sold by owners or new construction homes sold by builders.
