WACO - Gander Mountain is bringing the outdoors inside with a 52,000-sf store at Bagby Ave. and South Valley Mills Dr.
The store will be placed where the old University High School campus has been cleared to make room for a mixed-use development, according to the City of Waco.
Dallas-based Leon Capital Group is developing the 18-acre University High site. Records show that a permit has been approved to build a Gander Mountain store on that site and estimates its value at $3.8 million.
When it opens fall 2014, it will be the chain's 19th store in Texas. A 42,000-sf Cabela’s Outpost store opened October 2013 in the Central Texas Marketplace.
