DALLAS - The Oak Farms Dairy plant in Oak Cliff near I-35E and Colorado Blvd. has been sold. Dallas-based Cienda Management LLC has purchased the 16-acre tract as part of a major redevelopment in southern Dallas as part of Mayor Mike Rawlings’ GrowSouth initiative.

Cienda bought the dairy from Southern Foods Group. The Oak Farms Diary plant has been at the site since the 1930s.

The property is zoned to allow high-rise construction and could accommodate up to 1,000 apartments and 600,000 sf of commercial space. The investment group says the mixed-use plan could include hotel, office, residential, retail and entertainment uses.

If plans move through as expected the tract will be ready for new developments starting in May 2015.
