Laredo lands $5M Alamo Drafthouse
LAREDO – The City of Laredo has issued a building permit for a $5 million, eight-screen Alamo Drafthouse off Eastpoint Dr. and Loop 20.
Construction on the 33,781-sf cinema is expected to start in July and be complete by March 2015.
With close to 250,000 people, Laredo is the second most populous city along the border in Texas.
The project is a perfect fit with the other big box stores along Loop 20, which is also known as the Bob Bullock Loop.
The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema chain started one with small theater in downtown Austin but now has 21 theaters in seven states, including 14 in Texas.
