GRIMES COUNTY - The Texas Transportation Commission has approved funding to replace the SH 105 bridges. This $23.6 million project will relocate the Brazos River Bridge to a more stable location and realign and replace the bridges at the Navasota River and Coles Creek.

This project was awarded to James Construction Group LLC. Work is anticipated to begin fall 2014 and be complete by winter 2016.

"As Texas roadways become increasingly crowded, we must find ways to relieve congestion without compromising safety," said General Joe Weber, TxDOT executive director. "Keeping travelers moving safely and efficiently will continue to be an ongoing priority as Texas welcomes nearly 1,000 newcomers each day."
