LONGVIEW AREA - Longview sales tax revenues rose in April above those of 2013 for the third straight month. Longview, Kilgore, Gladewater, Henderson, Carthage and Marshall all posted gains over April 2013.

Longview brought in $2.45 million, up from $2.41 million in April 2013, a 1.6 percent increase.

Kilgore’s returns of $876,992, up 14.9 percent from $763,225 in April 2013, marked the fourth straight month of growth after a five-month slump.

Across the state, sales tax revenues grew for a 50th consecutive month and have posted a fiscal year-to-date growth of 5.4 percent.
