Tomball’s 488 acres for new Woodtrace Development
TOMBALL – Woodtrace Development, a new 488-acre master-planned community, is in the beginning stages of construction. It is located near the corner of Hwy. 249 and Woodtrace Blvd.
The gated community, which will include 840 homes in the $300,000–$700,000 price range, is expected to house at least 2,500 residents. Features include an estimated 18-acre lake, walking trails, parks, ponds, soccer fields and a central recreation center.
Home sales are expected to begin immediately since builders such as Village Builders, Ashton Woods Homes, J. Patrick Homes and Trendmaker Homes have already begun to receive interest from customers.
The model homes will not be completed in time for the groundbreaking event on June 27 but are slated to open later this summer.
Friendswood Development Company is the developer of the project, and they recently bought the property from Richfield Investment Corporation who owned the land since 1998. Friendswood began making improvements to the existing three empty lots by adding private streets.
Woodtrace is located within Tomball ISD.
