WACO – The Legends Crossing development on SH 6 continues to attract hotels, with a 92-unit TownPlace Suites by Marriott scheduled to become the third lodging establishment operating on the site near Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center.

It will join a new 120-unit Holiday Inn Express and the 88-room Homewood Suites that opened in 2010 at the site. Holiday Inn Express, scheduled to open in the fall, already is booking business.

“Once we begin construction, which should be soon, we should have the hotel ready for occupancy in about a year,” said Piyush Patel, a spokesman for Waco Lodging LLC.

Confirmation that Waco is getting a TownPlace Suites by Marriott comes soon after McNeill Commercial Real Estate announced it will place a 107-room Home2 Suites by Hilton next to the Gander Mountain outdoors store to be built at South Valley Mills Dr. and I-35.
