CYPRESS - Construction will begin in July in Bridgeland, a master-planned community, on the last phase of the first section of the development. This phase will add more than 400 houses to the community, located between the Grand Pkwy. and Hwy. 290.

Prices range from $250,000 to the millions. Future plans for the neighborhood also call for additional amenities, such as a heated lap pool, splash pad, skateboard park, basketball and tennis courts, and a canoe launch.

The community also features walk and bike trails, lakes and water parks. Massachusetts-based Sasaki Associates designed the master plan for the community, as well as plans for most of The Woodlands.

The Howard Hughes Corp., the Dallas-based parent company of The Woodlands Development Co., is the developer of the community.

Established in 2006, Bridgeland currently has 2,100 occupied homes with thousands of lots left for development, making it a contender for the largest master-planned community in Houston.
