More details on Magnolia’s 600-acre community
MAGNOLIA – As homes in The Woodlands come close to selling out, a new master-planned community will break ground about a mile away this summer to help fill the ever-growing demand for upscale houses in north Houston.
Construction will begin in August on Toll Brothers’ new, yet-to-be-named 600-acre master-planned community, located about half of a mile northwest of The Woodlands and within the Magnolia Independent School District east of FM 2978.
The first phase includes 160 lots offering 60, 70 or 85 feet with the 85-foot lots constructed in a gated portion of the community, as well as a 6,000-sf community center. Prices will range from the mid-$300s to the mid-$600 thousand, with presales beginning in spring 2015.
About 200 acres of the master-planned community will remain undeveloped and include hiking and biking trails for residents. Space may also be reserved for an elementary school.
A portion of the community fronts FM 2978 and could be used to build additional homes or retail space. Homebuilders will be announced over the next few weeks. The entire project will include 850 to 900 homes.
