Embassy Suites at McAllen Convention Center underway
McALLEN – City leaders came together with Goldstein Financial LLC of South Padre Island and broke ground on the $20 million, six-story Embassy Suites at McAllen’s Convention Center complex.
The 150-room, full-service hotel will be the signature hotel at the McAllen Convention Center.
Construction is expected to begin in August in the southwest section of the Convention Center’s oval park, and be completed in approximately 18 months.
The hotel will include one- and two-room suites, an indoor pool and spa, 12,660 sf of ballroom and meeting space and 3,763 sf of restaurant, food and beverage space.
The Embassy Suites completes the City’s plan for the development of the Convention Center complex. A recently approved $45 million Performing Arts Center is planned for the southeast side.
The new hotel will be within walking distance of the Convention Center and the Palms Crossing retail center.
