DALLAS-FORT WORTH – The number of homes lenders have scheduled for forced sale at July’s foreclosure auctions is about 43 percent less than in July 2013, according to data from Addison-based Foreclosure Listing Service.

Foreclosure postings for 1,348 homes are on file for the four-county area, the lowest filing total for North Texas in more than a decade.

The largest number of foreclosure postings was in Dallas County, 597, and Tarrant County, 492. Denton County had the greatest decline from last July — down about 57 percent.

With July’s postings, total foreclosure filings in the DFW area are about a third lower this year than in the first seven months of 2013.
