LONGVIEW – East Texas Regional Airport will soon receive $29 million in improvements. Renovations include $8 million in improvements to taxiway lighting, $2 million for airfield drainage improvements and about $13 million to design and overlay a runway.

The renovations are part of a continuing plan to spruce up the airport. The projects will be funded mostly by grants from the FAA, with the county paying for 10 percent of the renovations.

Airport officials say this round of renovations should be complete within five years.
