CenterPoint buys 1.4M SF, doubles Houston portfolio
HOUSTON – CenterPoint Properties, an Illinois-based industrial real estate developer, has closed on two separate deals for facilities totaling 1.4 million sf, doubling its presence around the city.
The first deal was the acquisition of four buildings in the Cedar Crossing Industrial Park in Baytown totaling 1.2 million sf. Exel Logistics occupies all four buildings, where the company manufactures and packages plastic resin.
The second deal was 3240 South Loop E. The company bought a 212,961-sf facility currently occupied by another logistics and commodities company, Gulf Winds International, which ships coffee and rice.
CenterPoint is targeting customers doing business with the Port of Houston.
