Webster’s $160M Bay Area Medical Center opening
WEBSTER, HARRIS COUNTY – The $160 million Bay Area Regional Medical Center, 200 Blossom St., is set to open July 2014. The 375,000-sf first phase includes 104 patient suites and 22 intensive care unit rooms.
The hospital also has a full-service emergency room with 11 treatment rooms, five operating suites, three cardiac cath suites and one hybrid operating room that functions as a cardiac cath suite and an operating suite.
The second phase will expand the hospital to 202 beds. The designing and planning is scheduled to begin in October. Completion of the second phase is expected in September 2015.
The hospital is expected to employ 520 people full-time with a payroll of about $36 million in fiscal year 2014, and approximately 98 percent of its jobs are filled. When it is fully built out, the hospital will have 275 patient rooms in 11 floors.
