Temple: 185,000-SF Walmart heads to west side
TEMPLE – A 185,000-sf Walmart Supercenter is under construction at 6801 W. Adams Ave., where Adams intersects with Old Waco Rd. It is scheduled to open in summer 2015 and will employ about 300 workers.
The store will have fresh produce, a deli, bakery, full grocery selection, pharmacy, health and beauty items, pet supplies, toys and electronics, garden center, home merchandise, apparel, a tire and lube center and a vision center, according to Anne Hatfield, a spokeswoman for Walmart.
The Walmart will be located in the Crescent View commercial subdivision, said Brian Chandler, Temple’s director of planning. The city is also working to widen Old Waco Rd. in area close to the retail store.
