DALLAS - Olymbec of Montreal has made a big growth spurt of its assets in the United States with the buy of the 49-story, 1.4 million-sf 1700 Pacific Ave. skyscraper.

It is expected that the new owner of the Pacific 1700 on Pacific Ave. in Dallas will in turn invest "millions of dollars" in renovations in order to attract new business tenants.

The office building, built in 1983, is valued at $51 million according to the City of Dallas.

The Class A skyscraper has an underground parking garage, as well as an off-site garage connected to the building via air-conditioned sky bridges.

A Chase bank branch, a large food court, a fitness center and an underground tunnel system connecting the tower to nearby buildings are also present within the property.

Since being placed on the market, the building occupancy sits at 50 percent, with Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP anchoring the property, along with Neiman Marcus. The tower also serves as the corporate offices for tech company APEX Clearing Corp.
