DALLAS-FORT WORTH - DFW home prices were up 5.2 percent in second quarter 2014 from 2013, according to a survey by the National Association of Realtors, which analyzed 173 U.S. housing markets.

Nationwide, prices were up 4.4 percent, the smallest increase since 2012, while median sales prices in second quarter were at a record $212,400.

The comparable median price in the DFW area for 2Q 2014 was $191,300, while Austin had the highest median price in the state at $247,500.

DFW home price gains cooled substantially from the 9 percent rise in first quarter 2014.

For the first seven months of 2014, North Texas median prices were up 7 percent from the same period last year.
