San Antonio housing market cools in July
SAN ANTONIO – After six consecutive months of increasing home prices, the greater San Antonio housing market took a pause in July, according to the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR).
As of July 2014, the average and median home price in the San Antonio MSA stood at $229,253 and $187,500, respectively. Both numbers represent a slight decrease in pricing — after six months of increases.
Home prices are still up on a yearly basis, however. The average price of $229,253 represents a 6 percent increase from the average price of $216,317 posted last July.
As for the median home price, at the end of July last year, that number stood at $179,500. A year later, the median home price in the San Antonio MSA stood at $187,500 — an increase of 4 percent.
Additionally, 2,557 homes were sold over the 31 days ended July 31, 2014 — a 5 percent increase from the 2,431 homes sold over the same month last year, SABOR reports.
