LUBBOCK - The $15.8 million, 116,000-sf Legacy Elementary School campus has officially opened at 6424 Kemper Ave. The facility features more than 30 classrooms, a computer lab and a shell for a future life skills wing.

Legacy, Frenship Independent School District’s seventh elementary school, will employ 28 staff members and house about 250 students between prekindergarten and second grade.

Each year the school is open, another grade level will be added until the school has grades pre-K through fifth grade. “We’re growing about 400 students a year,” said Superintendent David Vroonland of enrollment in FISD.
