DALLAS - The Iota Alpha chapter of the Chi Omega sorority at Southern Methodist University has moved into its new $6.5 million sorority house.

The 25,000-sf residence replaces the former SMU Faculty Club at the site at 3034 Daniel Ave. Construction began in June 2013 after the group completed fundraising for the three-story building.

The interior of the Chi Omega house includes seating for 160 members, a safe room, an art studio and in-suite study areas.

The sorority will use the house to host events as well as provide housing for about 40 members each year.
