LEON VALLEY, BEXAR COUNTY – Construction for the enclosures at the 50,000-sf San Antonio Aquarium is underway. The aquarium will be located at 6320 Bandera Rd., just outside of Loop 410 at the former home of the Fiesta Dodge dealership.

The aquarium is scheduled to open in December and will feature sharks, hundreds of species of exotic fish, sting rays and interactive exhibits.

The largest exhibit will be a 125,000-gallon tunnel tank with various sharks and tropical fish, which may not be completed until March 2015.

The San Antonio Aquarium will also feature an exhibit where guests can touch stingrays and a Jump Jungle, where kids can enjoy multiple bounce houses and trampolines.
