COLLEGE STATION - The home of more than 2,400 cadets at Texas A&M University's Corps District in the southside quadrangle will see $115 million in improvements from 2015 through 2017.

Lacy and Harrell Halls recently completed renovations as part of the 2012 Corps District Plan, while Leonard Hall is under construction for renovations. The approved funding will continue the 2012 plan by similarly renovating the remaining nine buildings.

Two new Leadership Learning Centers will replace old lounges between Kiest/Fountain halls and Spence/Briggs halls, with each featuring a print and copy center, commons area, community learning center and a meeting space. The center between Kiest and Fountain halls will feature an office suite and coffee shop.

The historic Quad will also receive improvements after construction including replaced sidewalks, improved landscaping and lighting and a paved internal quad area.

Fountain, Kiest, Briggs, Spence and Gainer halls, the two Leadership Learning Centers and the north half quad improvements are expected to be completed by August 2016.

Whitely, White, Harrington and Utay halls as well as the south quad improvements should be completed by August 2017.
