AUSTIN – The city council has announced that it will allow the future redevelopment of roughly 46.7 acres in The Domain shopping center.

The rezoning allows for taller, denser buildings for additional shopping, residential, hotel, industrial, and office space. With the change, buildings can reach 42 floors, dwelling limits were removed, and the floor-to-area ratio was increased 12:1.

In 2023, The Domain began a multi-million-dollar renovation that aimed to complement the shopping center’s recently announced line of incoming luxury retailers such as Zimmermann, Burberry, Balenciaga, and others.
