LAREDO – Laredo’s trade with the world grew 5.87 percent to reach a record $253.15 billion in 2013, which propelled it past Houston and Detroit to the number three ranking in the nation, according to the City of Laredo’s 2014 Trade Numbers Report.
Laredo’s 2013 total imports were a record-setting $140.74 billion, the fourth greatest total in the nation behind Los Angeles, New York and Chicago and narrowly ahead of New Orleans.
Laredo’s total exports were a record $112.42 billion in 2013, and the Customs district ranked fifth nationally, as it has since 2007.
