TYLER - Greater Tyler Association of Realtors (GTAR) has released home sales data for August 2014.

Home sales dipped by 2.8 percent from August 2013. However, the drop could mean a difference of only one house sale, according to Tyler Area Builders Association President Kerry Hamblett.

The median home price for August was $154,400, a 5.4 percent hike from $146,500 experienced in August 2013, and a 2.9 percent increase from the median home price of $150,000 in July 2014.

The home inventory for the greater Tyler area was 9.1 months in August, down from 9.4 months in July and from 10.4 months in August 2013.
