SAN ANTONIO – Mission Solar Energy is set to open the company’s 240,000-sf manufacturing facility at Brooks City-Base.

The solar voltaic panels produced at this South San Antonio facility will be used at various CPS Energy and commercial projects throughout the city and around the world.

Mission Solar Energy, which relocated its corporate headquarters to San Antonio as part of CPS Energy’s New Energy Economic Initiative, invested more than $130 million to build the 100 megawatt-capacity N-type solar cell and module facility.

Once the plant reaches full capacity in 2015, the company will reach 200 megawatt capacity.

The company currently employs 240 people and plans to create more than 400 competitive jobs in San Antonio.
