COLLEGE STATION, BRYAN – College Station is the second fastest growing city in America, and Bryan is ranked 17th, according to a report released by NerdWallet.

NerdWallet analyzed more than 500 cities from 2009 to 2013 based on three factors: working-age population growth, growth in the number of residents in the workforce, and median income growth for workers.

Only Boulder, Colorado, beat College Station. While the working age population grew 17 percent in College Station, the city’s biggest gain was in earnings growth, which is up more than 25 percent since 2009.

Bryan’s working age population went up 12 percent over the four years, and while employment growth was slightly down over that time, earnings growth went up more than 22 percent.

Two other Texas cities, Midland and McKinney, also made the top 20. The only other state with four cities in the top 20 was California.
