ADP plan: $41M facility in El Paso; hire 1,100
EL PASO – Automatic Data Processing (ADP) will create 1,100 new jobs and invest about $41 million to construct a 150,000-sf facility immediately north of its current one on Resler Dr., about half a mile south of Loop 375.
ADP has until the end of 2015 to begin construction, though groundbreaking is expected before the end of 2014. The new building must open by the end of 2017, though ADP expects to open by September of 2015.
"Today’s announcement will have an overall impact to the El Paso economy of more than $653 million, and I am honored that ADP has chosen El Paso as the home for their future growth," said Mayor Oscar Leeser.
"Our expansion is an expression of our faith and confidence in the labor market in El Paso. At ADP we’re proud to shine the light on El Paso for all of the right reasons; the promise we see in the people we hire and the community partnerships we have cultivated and grown," said Terry McGreehan, ADP Vice President and General Manager.
ADP first opened in El Paso in 2006 and currently employs about 1,100 people. The company primarily works with Fort Bliss and the University of Texas at El Paso.
This isn’t the first expansion announcement that ADP has made for its El Paso office. In 2012, the company announced plans to create an additional 585 jobs in the Sun City and invest $21 million to expand its operations, a deal that resulted in an incentives package from the City of El Paso. Those expansion plans never moved forward.
In July 2014, Charles Schwab announced that it will create a new operations center in El Paso that will add 445 data entry and processing jobs. It will invest $21.5 million and open in West El Paso.
