RCG to open Galveston’s third cruise terminal
GALVESTON – Royal Caribbean Group (RCG) will open its $125 million, 161,334-sf terminal on Nov. 9.
Located on ten acres in Pier 10, the terminal will allow the port to accommodate larger ships.
Ceres Terminals Inc. partnered with RCG for the project, which also included improvements to the pier bulkhead and apron.
A staging and loading area, bus and taxi staging areas, and 1,900-space parking lot are being added.
The Galveston Wharves board approved a long-term lease agreement with RCG beginning with a 20-year initial term.
RCG’s terminal will be the first cruise terminal to generate all of its energy through on-site solar panels.
