FREEPORT – Volkswagen Group of America will break ground later this year on a $114 million importation facility.

The 120-acre site will consolidate the company's port operations in Houston and Midlothian. It will handle as many as 140,000 vehicle imports annually when it opens in early 2024.

Volkswagen entered into a 20-year ground lease with the two developers leading the project, PRP and KDC.

JLL represented Volkswagen in site selection.
